Proposed text for memorial

This memorial serves as a tangible reminder of the sacrifices made by the men and women and their families who have served their country with honor and as a result have suffered from the hidden wounds of war.

These hidden wounds or silent casualties, often resulting from Post Traumatic Stress, have contributed to the shocking level of veteran suicide.

These veterans, who have defended our country's freedom and democratic ideals, have earned our remembrance and our enduring gratitude.

Erected by the Corporal Jeffrey M. Lucey Cape Cod Chapter 041, Veterans for Peace, September 2019
